To celebrate the publication of our new guide to Julian Barnes, I am delighted to announce that we are running a competition, in conjunction with www.julianbarnes.com , to give away 5 free copies of the book.
To be in with a chance of winning, email us with your answers to these three questions:
1) Julian Barnes begins Nothing to be Frightened of by stating, "I don't believe in God, but I miss Him". What does his brother Jonathan Barnes make of this statement?
2) Julian Barnes recently won what prestigious literary award?
3) Which Julian Barnes short story was featured in the May 2011 edition of Playboy Magazine?
Please submit your answers to [email protected] by Friday June 24th
Our new guide to Barnes's work provides new critical perspectives on his best-selling novels from the 1980's, Flaubert's Parrot and The History of the World in 10 1/2 Chapters, up to his recent memoir Nothing to be Frightened of and includes contributions from the finest critics working in the field.
Many thanks to the lovely folks over at www.julianbarnes.com for running the competition on their website and displaying the book!
Just now I saw a post about the contest. The publication listed 06/09/2011. However, the answers you are asking to send until June 24, Friday. Friday 24 June was in 2011. In 2012, the Friday falls on a Sunday. Please Uobyasnite this inaccuracy. Or am I wrong somewhere?

Hi Mary,
The dates on our blog posts are in US format - so the contest was launched on the 9th of June 2011, requesting answers 2 weeks later on the 24th June 2011.
Thanks,
Jennifer
